The images of city flâneur have appeared in both Baudelaire and Benjamin's writing. Baudelaire's "wandering" is an experience of the XIX century Paris urban space, passionately and intoxicatingly searching for traces of modernity in the continuous discovery of modern beauty that is different from the classical one. On the contrary, Benjamin's flâneur remained alone, observing and examining the city from an ambiguous distance.
